Special Visitor

Well done to the Libby, Lily V and Emily who participated in the Jump Jam Competition in the weekend. Both teams, the junior and senior teams, won their competition!

There was a special visitor that came to school today to visit us, say congratulations and sign t-shirts - Mr Jump Jam himself, Mr Brett Fairweather. We were super excited to have him visit! Unfortunately, Libby was away for the photo.

We have managed to add a few more acts of kindness to our tree. Hopefully, by the end of the term, it will be in full bloom!

Picasso Inspired Portraits

We have been learning about 'Picasso and Cubism' in Art. We used this style to inspire our portraits.
Here are a few examples of what we have completed. Come into the classroom to see more of them.

Our kindness tree is starting to bloom

Wednesday 15 May 2019 No comments
As our value of the term is 'kindness', we decided to create a 'kindness tree'. To make it bloom, we need to show acts of kindness. Every time someone does something kind, we add a new leaf. Hopefully, by the end of the term, our tree will be in full bloom!

Kindness Counts!

Sunday 5 May 2019 No comments

Our 'Value of the Term' is kindness. We have talked about the importance of kindness and how it makes you feel when you are kind to others.

You may notice in the homework books, that the children have been set a kindness challenge. The challenge is to complete as many of the activities on the chart as they can, before the end of May. Each time an activity is completed, the children will colour in a square. I wonder if anyone can have it all completed by the end of the month? If other kind things are done, you may like to write these down in your homework book as well. I look forward to hearing all the wonderful 'acts of kindness' that you complete over the next few weeks!

Paper chain for Christchurch

We have made a paper chain as part of a project labelled ‘Paperchains for Christchurch’. Each doll represents the many different nationalities that makeup New Zealand. Two school children in Tauranga organised the project. Along with other schools throughout the country, we are going to attempt to beat the world record for the longest paper chainover 4 kms! )

We received our courier parcel from our buddy school ‘Matua Primary’ in Tauranga. We had fun trying to put the postcards together to make the message on the back. It was a tricky puzzle, but Willem managed to guess what it said when we had it half made. Super detective work!
